Rent (2005 Movie Soundtrack)

I've been back home in the Burgh now for about two weeks for Christmas Break.  The week before Christmas I worked on cleaning for inventory down at Eveys a lot, it was great to be back at work.  I miss that place, especially everybody there.  I came home just in time for the Eveys Christmas party, which was awesome.  Other than that, I shopped a little, hung out with friends, saw Rent (I'm completely obsessed with the music now!), and had fun.

Christmas was fantastic as always.  I enjoyed hanging out with my family.  And I finally got a digital camera! Yeah!  My mom also surprised me with the first seasons of The West Wing and Everwood on DVD.  My friends and I at school watch TV shows on DVD all the time, so these are going to be super fun...we already started watching them, because Dana and Emily came to visit for New Years' Eve and the Fiesta Bowl! Yeah!

After Christmas, I worked a lot, doing inventory with Jessie and the Bobs.  And Liz came to visit! We had tons of fun, even though, when we tried to go and see Pride and Prejuidce, it wasn't in any theaters.  Boo.  Liz stayed with me Thursday through Sunday and Dana and Emily stayed with me Friday through Tuesday, so it rocked.  We went to First Night in Pittsburgh for New Years' Eve with Julie and Tyler, which was sweet.  The fireworks rocked.  I had a really fun week and weekend.

Then came the Fiesta Bowl on Monday.  Notre Dame lost.  I was very upset, but I'm almost over it.  There's always next year.  Now, my friends are all gone and all the excitment of the holidays is over, so I'm just working, and honestly, kind of looking forward to going back to ND, especially since next week almost all of my friends will be gone, since I get a month long break, rather than three weeks like everybody else.  I miss ND, it really feels like home now.  But, I'm still having fun just laying around a lot and relaxing and seeing my Pittsburgh friends.

I'll just leave you guys with some quotes from Regis Philbin that sum up how I feel about ND, and how most Domers (thats ND students) feel:

"Everything that is right and good in this world is at Notre Dame." - Regis Philbin

"Those nights when I walked the campus in my freshman year were mesmerizing. I never got over it. There was something there, something in the air, something that made you feel better, something that made you want to be better. And through the years it has never changed for me. Every time I go back to Notre Dame, it's there..." -Regis Philbin

Hey everybody!

Ok, so I know I completely and utterly suck at updating.  I'm terribly sorry and I hope you can all forgive me in the goodness of your hearts.

Anyways, to sum up the last couple months, ND is flippin' amazing!  I absolutely love, love, love, love school.  I wouldn't rather be anywhere else in the whole wide world.

I've been doing loads of fun stuff, but since there is no way I could possibly type it all here, you'll just have to trust me.  I've made some sweet cool new friends and have been going to some sweet cool things, especially ISI, which stands for Iron Sharpens Iron, and is basically a college youth group.  Its about the coolest thing of my life.  I'm also obsessed with football now, which is kind of weird. I love Irish football! Yeah! Fiesta Bowl here we come! But, I'm sure everything else will come up in future entries, because I promise, I will update this time.  I'll try at least.

After that brief catching up, right now I just got back to ND from Thanksgiving Break in Pittsburgh, and I got to see all of my favorite people at home, which made me really happy.  And I went to Chick-fil-a, what could be better?

Well, I need to do all the homework I've been procrastinating for about two and half centuries, so I must go, but I promise I will update this time!

See ya later kids!

Napoleon Dynamite

My last day of work was on Sunday.  We watched Bring It On and the National Spelling Bee (those kids = nuts).  They threw two buckets of water on me.  It was a pretty good last day.  I'm going to miss Evey Hardware.

Liz, Tiev, and Tyler came over tonight to watch Napoleon Dynamite and have a knoe party.  If you don't know what knoeing is, don't feel bad, Tiev and I made the word up.  Knoe means "to dance eccentrically", and Napoleon Dynamite is obviously the top Knoer in the world, so the movie was very appropriate.  Plus, Tyler hadn't seen it yet!  Anyways, we ate lots of food, watched the movie, gave ourselves side ponytails like Deb, and Tiev and I knoed along with the dance sequence of the movie. All in all it was a fantastic night.  I'm really going to miss those kids (much more than I will miss Evey Hardware).

Since Tuesday I've been basically doing one thing: PACKING.  And also buying more stuff to pack.  I'm don't know how I am going to fit all this crap into my room, and I still have so much more stuff to get.  Grrrrr.

Besides shopping and packing, on Thursday, I did this thing for my dad and the Almanac with Kelly Luck, Phil, Katelyn, and Julie, and we got lunch at Max and Ermas afterwards, which was fun.  I had to so say goodbye to Katelyn and Phil, but it was alright.  Then Julie and I spent the whole rest of the day together, just doing random stuff, and that was super fun.

Yesterday was my last day with my dearest sister Kathryn, because she is going to the beach with youth group and won't be back until after I leave.  We went out to dinner and then stayed up until 3 am talking.  It was a lot of fun, and I'm going to miss her more than I realize I think.

Today Liz and I went to the new mall at the Pittsburgh Mills.  That mall is super huge! It was so cool though, they have a lot of great stores there, like Rue 21, my favorite store in the whole world.  We went shopping for like 5 hours and then ate a late dinner at Johnny Rockets, which was sooooo good.  It was a very good day in all, and now after Liz is done satisfying her Harry Potter reading itch, we are going to watch Pride and Prejudice and Empire Records.  Tons of fun.

I leave in less than a week. Aaahhhhh!

Ok, so I haven't updated in a while, please forgive me, I was having another bestest week ever in the whole world.  I can't believe how awesome God is and how amazing this summer has been.

I spent this past week on an internship with The Silver Ring Thing (if you don't know what that is, check out www.silverringthing.com, or ask me, i never get tired of explaining).  With sixty other high school and college students (and a few "leaders"), I traveled to Georgia and put on the SRT show twice, once at a HUGE Christian event called MegaFest in Atlanta and another time at a church in Macon.  I have never learned more about God, myself, relationships, and just life in general in one week.  I met some many amazing people, made great friends, saw 26 people become Christians, saw 300 people put on a silver ring, learned how to put on the SRT show, heard stories of amazing things God did, and saw God do incredible things.  I ate a ton of Chick-Fil-A, drank gallons of Sweet Tea, participated in a massive worship parade through the streets of ATL (one of the weirdest, most amazingly crazy experiences of my life), talked to people I would have never interacted with before, learned the CottonEyed Joe, went on two 14 hour bus rides, and well a whole lot more, that I could go on forever about.  But, I think you can tell that this week was incredible.  The most important thing that happened this week, however, is I am now sure this type of youth ministry is what God wants me to do with my life and what I want to do, which is uber exciting.

So, everything pretty much rocks right now.  Oh, yeah, I had my 18th birthday last week too! That was really cool as well.  Yeah! I'm finally 18!!!

The situation now, is that I leave for school in 10 days. 10 DAYS! I can't believe it. Today was my last day of work with a lot of people, I had to say goodbye to Bob, Bob, Doug, Frank, Bill, Tom, and it was sad.  Its hard to realize that I won't be seeing those guys every week.  I'm going to miss Evey's, and I know that there are people I won't get to say goodbye to either, which makes me sad.  However, I am still really excited for school.  I got my class schedule, and I'm really happy with it. My earliest class is 9:35, and I only have that two days a week.  The other three days I don't have class until 11:00 and 12:00, so that's pretty cool, and I got all the classes I wanted.  I got all kinds of information from my dorm too, and that sounds like a lot of fun.  I also discovered that my second cousin once removed (or something like that, i've never met her) is going to Notre Dame and will be in my dorm, one floor above me, which is sweet.

I still have lots of shopping and packing to do, so I'm spending the day with my mom tommorrow.  We're going to see the March of the Penguins movie tommorrow too! I'm sooooo excited! Yeah!

Interesting Fact that is going to make everyone laugh: The cheers for my dorm are, "Poultry Power" and "Win One For the McNugget".  You like it.
